Rite of Christian initiation of Adults (RCIA)

rcia-logoEach year on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil, thousands are baptized into the Catholic Church in the United States. Parishes welcome these new Catholics through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA).” (USCCB)

Are You Interested in Becoming Catholic? Or, are you a baptized adult who has not yet received your first Communion or Confirmation? If you are interested in becoming Catholic or completing your sacraments of initiation (baptism, confirmation, and Eucharist), the RCIA process is for you!

RCIA, the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults, is the celebration of initiation into the Catholic faith and way of life. The RCIA process teaches people about the Catholic tradition and helps people along the spiritual journey as they prepare to become full participants in the Catholic community. The sacraments of initiation are typically celebrated with the community at the Easter Vigil.

Adults and teens who wish to practice the Catholic faith and participate in the Catholic sacraments should call the church office to learn more about the RCIA process. Contact Vicki Vazquez, admin@nativitycharleston.org, 843-795-3821

Note: We do have the option to participate via the web.
